Join our friendly Colchester tango community and dive into the vibrant world of Argentine tango!
This is a mixed-level group class beginners always welcoming new beginners who learn quickly with the friendly encouragement of more experienced tango dancers. And for those of you with more tango experience I always have challenges and exercises to get your tango to the next level.
Weekly Wednesday evening tango classes

To Cross or not to Cross? - Intensive Tango Workshop
Saturday 7th March 2026 12-2pm, £10 with Miriam Gita
Crosses are one on the most dynamic of tango moves and are incredibly versatile navigationally, they can go in any direction at any time. At this workshop Miriam will show you how to lead and follow crosses each and every way from any step. This will open up your possibilities for expressing your musicality as well as improve your floor craft. We will have a detailed look at what exactly is the lead for crosses also how and when to follow with a cross.
Miriam will also give you her favourite decorations on crosses for both leaders and followers as well as focusing your awareness on the lead and follow first and foremost and then the music and only after that give attention to styling. You will also be given strengthening exercises designed to get the style principles assimilated into your muscle memory and make you look more like a tango dancer by enhancing your posture, balance and flexibility.
No need to bring a partner. This is an open-level workshop, all welcome!
